Ernie Kleinschroth

Ernie Kleinschroth, of Ontario, was born on January 22, 1920, and enlisted with the Elgin Regiment in July 1940. While training in England in December 1944, he suffered a gunshot wound, resulting in the loss of his left leg below the knee.

  • Honorary CHAMP Membership

Mr. Kleinschroth returned to Canada and joined The War Amps Western Ontario Branch, serving as:

  • Vice-President and President, Western Ontario Branch
  • National Director, Western Ontario Branch

He was awarded the Distinguished Service Membership, Meritorious Service Membership and Honorary CHAMP Membership for his hard work and dedication to the Association.

Mr. Kleinschroth passed away on December 7, 2008.
