Jean-Marie Paul

Jean-Marie Paul was born on July 7, 1934, in Quebec and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1953. He was injured in a service-related plane crash in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, in October 1964, which resulted in the loss of his leg.

Mr. Paul joined The War Amps in 1976 as an Associate Member and served as:

  • Member, Ottawa and Montreal branches
  • Director, Montreal Branch (2008-2009)
  • Branch Secretary, Montreal Branch

Adopting The War Amps motto of “amputees helping amputees,” he has shared his experiences with new amputees and has been an inspiration to the many Champs and their families who have met him at CHAMP seminars.

Mr. Paul has volunteered extensively to raise awareness about The War Amps operations in Quebec. He was awarded the Honorary CHAMP Membership by the Association.
