Your Support Makes a Difference

The War Amps is committed to improving the quality of life for amputees, but this wouldn’t be possible without the generosity and ongoing support of our donors.

Celebrating 50 Years of CHAMP!

Over the past 50 years, the Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program has made a life-changing difference for child amputees, providing funding for artificial limbs, fostering peer connections and advocating for their rights.

“I would not be the person I am today without the support of War Amps donors. My artificial legs are expensive and are not fully covered by provincial or private insurance. The War Amps covers the remaining cost, so I can have the limbs I need to play hockey, go kayaking and so much more.”

Your donation helps provide amputees with the artificial limbs they need to live full and active lives.

Honouring Our Veterans

The War Amps was founded by amputee veterans more than 100 years ago. Today, we carry on their legacy by fighting for legislative changes that support our veterans, especially those who are seriously disabled.

The CHAMP Program was created in 1975 by war amputee veterans as they built upon their philosophy of “amputees helping amputees.” Through Operation Legacy, child amputees participate in local remembrance events to honour these war amputees and the sacrifices of all our veterans and fallen soldiers.
